Ok, the topic is laughter, but this article takes a serious look at the topic. And it is actually quite interesting. I’ve posted before on humor, and have given it a lot of thought. A Russian scientist went one step farther (leave it to the Russians to show me up), and created an actual formula.
HE = PI x C/T + BM
Where;
HE = Humor Effectiveness
PI = Personal involvement
C = complexity of joke
T= Time spent telling joke
BM = Background Mood
Makes sense to me.
