Follow up to the follow up…

The more I think about my last post, the more I want to change my statement. I think games relate to Jonassen’s problems, but that the more popular games relate to the problems in the center of the spectrum, and the games on the outlying edge would be considered more educational than games. For example, here is a great example of a ‘design problem/game’. And there are a bunch of examples over here. But these aren’t the types of games that sell millions of copies (half-life, Sims, etc.). Those kind of games mirror the problems in the center of the spectrum.
